So the internet is all abuzz today with the news that there are some vast differences to the New Moon the movie from New Moon the book.
InTouch Weekly is where it all started, so we have to take the news with a grain of salt for sure, but some of the information seems credible, and, sorry Dawn, even better than the book...
For instance, how could the movie survive with LESS Edward? It couldn't. So they've put Edward in Bella's psyche as more or less an apparition when she is trying to get him to talk to her in her head. Wow...that's confusing, but it makes sense.
Secondly, it seems there will NOT be a proposal from Edward to Bella in order to get him to change her to a vampire. Now I realize this is a hard pill to swallow for serious Twi-hards out there, but I kind of like the notion. One thing many of us tend to forget is this book series was intended for young adults...not us 30+ y/o moms. So the idea of having a young girl see a movie where she is manipulated into marrying someone at such a young age would bother even me. Don't get me wrong, it's romantic as hell, and given that my own parents were married at 16 and 18, I don't necessarily think it's completely bad. But you sure as hell don't want to go around romanticizing marriage to teenage girls. Bad idea.
I'm stoked for this movie simply because my favorite characters have major scenes: Jasper and the birthday party and Alice in Italy.
Hopefully, the fans will accept whatever comes down when the movie opens in November.
