Thoughts on New Moon by the Screenwriter

Well, Melissa Rosenberg sure has been making the rounds lately. Talking Channing Tatum and MPAA ratings for future Twilight Saga movies. Mark Malkin of E! Online reports the following straight from Melissa:

Rosenberg also confirmed some good news for Robert Pattinson fans...

Even though Edward Cullen may not be in the New Moon novel as much as he is in the others, she promised we’ll be seeing plenty of the Brit actor in the flick, which is currently shooting in Vancouver with director Chris Weitz.

“In the book, he’s actually an enormous presence in [Bella’s] mind,” Rosenberg said. “He’s so present in her mind throughout the entire center of the book, so we really played off that, and it kept him alive in a slightly different way, but fans will feel it’s true to the book. You can’t have a Twilight without Rob Pattinson.”

Huh. You can't have a Twilight without Rob Pattinson? Sorry, I thought you couldn't have a Twilight without Edward Cullen. Seems to me both Summit and Melissa Rosenberg are over exposing Rob Pattinson and many of the other actors for this movie, and it's bordering on serious exploitation. I hope it doesn't backfire.

As an adult fan of Twilight (not so much the rest of the books), and of course the actors from the film, I am almost to a point where I don't want to know much more. I feel like we'll have seen all the films far before they are ever released. New Moon is set to release on November 20.

Summit, heed this advice: Sometimes, LESS is more.
