April 3, 2009 - New Releases

For me, this weekend's releases are kind of blah.

Adventureland - Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig and Ryan Reynolds star in this film by Superbad director Greg Mottola about a recent college grad who needs a job to fund his dream vacation to Europe. He is hired on at a local amusement park, Adventureland, and supposed hilarity ensues.

• Kerstin's comment - I saw the preview for this and am pretty convinced I saw the whole movie via the preview. I'll be passing on this one...and NO! It has nothing to do with my intense dislike of Kristen Stewart, a.k.a. Man Jaw.

Fast and Furious - Vin Diesal and Paul Walker reunite in this sequel to their 2001 film THE Fast and THE Furious. See the play on the title there. Subtle! ;-) Anyway, this time around they team up to bring down a heroin importer...by street racing. Seriously

• Kerstin's Comment - Really? Really? Next!

Alien Trespass - Eric McCormack stars in this take on cheesy 50's sci-fi flicks. Set in 1957, it chronicles a fiery object from space that hurtles into a California desert mountaintop carrying an evil alien hellbent on destroying earth. Also on board is a good alien who wants to save earth from the evil alien and enlists the help of a local astronomer and a waitress.

• Kerstin's Comment - Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! This looks hilarious and I'll be checking it out as soon as possible!
